  2. What do these verses tell you about God and the relationship between the author and God? What impact did the author’s past experiences with God have on how he viewed God?
  3. What role has God played in your life? Who have you shared this with?

Read Psalm 71:7-13

  1. What impact do you think the author’s story had on others?
  2. Why do you think the author focuses on his enemies? How does this relate to people today?

Read Psalm 71:14-18

  1. How does the author conclude this chapter of his story? What is he primarily focused on in these verses?
  2. How easy is it for you to always have hope and praise God more and more? Do you know anyone who is able to do this - what impact does this have on the people around him or her?
  3. Have you ever considered that your story will impact future generations? What changes can you make to maximize your impact on people today and in the future?

Overall (Discovery Bible Study)

  • What do these scriptures say about God?
  • What do they say about people?
  • How will I apply this to my life?

Look Ahead

Reflect on your story – how does it impact with others currently and in the future?

Notes

Our stories don’t only affect the people we tell them to. They can ignite a domino effect. That’s how powerful our stories are with Jesus. They can leave an impression that lasts for generations to come – all in the context of pointing people to Jesus.
