Week 6

Message Notes

Look Back

How did you commit to service for the benefit of other people this week?

Look Up

Read Ephesians 3:14-20

  1. What do these verses say about God’s power and purpose for our lives? What do they say must happen in order to become “complete” and fulfill God’s purpose in our lives?

Read Exodus 3:16-22

  1. What specifically did God tell Moses to do in these verses? What did this require of Moses?
  2. What do these verses say about God’s power to do immeasurably more than we can imagine? What needed to happen for this to be realized?

Read Exodus 4:1-5

  1. How did Moses initially respond to the plan that God shared with him? What was Moses focused on, and what were his concerns?
  2. How did God demonstrate His power to Moses? Why did God tell Moses to throw down his staff – what did this symbolize, and how does this apply to you today?

Read Matthew 13:44-45

  1. What do these verses have in common? How does this apply to followers of Jesus today?

Overall (Discovery Bible Study)

  • What do these scriptures say about God?
  • What do they say about people?
  • How will I apply this to my life?

Look Ahead

How are you chasing meaning in life that is not consistent with the Kingdom? What is one change you can make that gives you meaning and purpose and aligns with what God cares about?

Notes

Kingdom living is about God’s power working within us. However, fully understanding what this means and how to realize that potential can feel like a treasure hunt. All of us are missing out on some of what God has in store for us because we are not aware of the potential, are not looking for the treasure, or are not willing to trust Jesus for what he has already purchased on our behalf. The truth is in order to get the best of both worlds, we must die and be born again. It’s pledging allegiance to Jesus so that we can gain entry into the kingdom of God.
