- Paul mentions the “church” several times in this passage - what is he referring to and which verses help you see this?
- What does Paul say is Christ’s relationship with the “church”? How does Paul say Christians should respond to this?
- Paul repeatedly mentions submission and love in these verses? Why do you think he does this? What is the relationship between “submission and love” and sacrifice, humility and unity?
- What does submission have to do with being joined together? What are the benefits of each? What are the challenges or barriers?
Overall (Discovery Bible Study)

Three underlying principles we see for relationships are sacrifice, humility, and unity. Which of these do you excel? Which do you struggle with? And what are you going to do about it?
Notes
Chapters 1-3 is more about finding our identity in Christ and who He says we are. Then chapters 4-6 are more of the practical nature in how we live that out. In effect God is saying'' Because this is who you really are, this is the life you live out.” This is especially true for chapter For those who are married, it may be some of the best marriage guidance one could ever receive, and for those who are not married, it's great wisdom in how we approach our relationships with one another. Leadership tip How is your group reflecting Chirsts love outside of your group? As we go into the Easter season, discuss how and where your group can make a difference. Think outside the box in some ways that you can impact another life with the love of Jesus Please make sure your groups register for what service they are planning on attending. If anyone in your group is not currently serving on a team, this would be a great time to see one of the many opportunities we have available.
