How did seeking the wisdom found in Proverbs help you understand and live by the truth?

Look Up

Read Proverbs 10:22-25 and Proverbs 10:6-7

  1. What do these verses say about the “blessings” of the Lord? How does this compare with what people typically think is a “blessing”?

Read Proverbs 10:22 in several different translations. What new or different insight do you gain into the second half of this verse? How might you apply this in your life today? / Proverbs 10:24-25 and 10:6-7 compare “wicked” or evil people with “righteous” or godly people. How does the author describe the different outcomes of their actions?

Read Proverbs 11:4-6 and Proverbs 11:18-20

  1. Proverbs 11 speaks of worldly wealth as “riches.” How are these different from the Lord’s blessing of riches that is mentioned in Proverbs 10?
  2. These verses also compare “wicked” and “godly” people and contrast their motivations and the results of their actions. What common themes appear when you read these verses with those from Proverbs 10? How might this help you recognize the blessing of the Lord in your life today?
  3. What do these verses say are some of the key steps to living a godly life? Which of these do you need to accept and apply in your life?
