Week 7

Message Notes

Look Back

What did you do to surrender to God and patiently allow Him to work on your behalf?

Look Up

Read Romans 10:5-8

  1. Why does Paul mention Moses in these verses? What point was he trying to make regarding how people become right with God?
  2. What does verse 6 say we are not to focus on? Why?
  3. Verse 8 talks about the “word” or “message” being close at hand - what is he talking about, and why is it significant?

Read Romans 10:9-15

  1. What do these verses say about how people are made right with God? What do they say about how people are saved, and how is this different?
  2. What point is Paul making in verse 11? Why is this important when you consider what Paul is encouraging his readers to do in these verses?
  3. Try to summarize verses 12 and 13 in a way that can be shared with someone who does not believe in Jesus. What holds you back from actually sharing this?
  4. How do verses 14 and 15 challenge you personally? How has your life changed as a result of someone else telling you about Jesus Christ?

Overall (Discovery Bible Study)

  • What do these scriptures say about God?
  • What do they say about people?
  • How will I apply this to my life?

Look Ahead

Who will you invite to hear the good news of Jesus with you this Easter?

Notes

14 But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? NLT
