Message Notes
Look Back
What did you do this week to deal with doubt in your life and build amazing faith?
Look Up
Read Acts 1:6-8
- What were the apostles interested in knowing? Why do you think they focused on this?
- What do you think are the key points Jesus was trying to stress in verse 7? Why do you think this was so important?
- Why do you think Jesus instructed the apostles to tell people “everywhere” about Jesus? How does this apply today?
Read Acts 1:9-11 and Matthew 28:16-20
- What do these 2 passages have in common?
- What things tend to lead to people standing and watching, rather than going? What can you do to make sure that you continue to go and grow in your faith?
Read 1 Peter 3:13-16
- What do these verses say about “how” people should tell others about Jesus? Why do you think Peter stressed these things?
- What does it mean for you personally to have hope in Christ? In what ways is this different from or similar to the power of the Holy Spirit that was mentioned in Acts 1:8?
Overall (Discovery Bible Study)
- What do these scriptures say about God?
- What do they say about people?
- How will I apply this to my life?
Look Ahead
What needs to happen for you to “be ready” to share the hope you have in Jesus Christ with people everywhere? What specific step will you take to become more comfortable and confident?
Notes
We are not given amazing faith all at once – we build and develop faith over time. To grow faith we need to “go”, and we grow when we are obedient. Christians are called to testify about what we do know, not what we don’t know. Being a witness for Jesus will enhance your understanding of Jesus, help you build amazing faith, make your worship come alive and change your life.
