Message Notes
Look Back
What did you discover by prayerfully considering the story behind your stuff? What do you plan to do to honor your supplier? (Enjoying His provision while being rich toward Him.)
Look Up
Read 2 Corinthians 5:16-21
- Do you know someone looking for a "new" life? What can you do to help rescue and empower them?
- Based on these verses what is required to become a “new creation”? How does this apply to you personally?
- What do these verses say is the primary reason that we have been made Christ’s “ambassadors”? What message have we been given and what makes someone an effective ambassador for Christ?
- Do you see yourself as one of Christ’s ambassadors? Do other people see you this way?
Read Matt 23:23-26 and Mark 7:1-8
- Who was Jesus speaking to in these verses and what can you learn about them? What would you say was their motivation and the condition of their hearts?
- What does Jesus say the religious leaders were neglecting in Matthew 23:23? What things does Jesus say are more important in this verse? How does this relate to being an ambassador for Christ?
- The Pharisees seemed to have a ‘task list’ and sometimes we do as well. But Jesus has only two - Love God & Love People. What would it mean to make love #1 on your task list? What does it really mean to love God? To love people?
Overall (Discovery Bible Study)
- What do these scriptures say about God?
- What do they say about people?
- How will I apply this to my life?
Look Ahead
In what ways could you actively represent Jesus as His ambassador?
Notes
An ambassador is more than an employee - an “I’m off the clock” attitude versus “all I do is a reflection of who I represent.” An employee focuses on a task list. An ambassador wants to deliver the essence of who they represent.
