Look Up
Read Isaiah 6:1-8
- What was Isaiah’s initial response to God? Why do you think he responded this way? Have you ever felt like this, and if so, where did you turn for comfort?
- What happened to Isaiah in verse 7? What did he do to deserve having his guilt taken away? How does this apply to the mission of Salty Church?
- How did Isaiah respond to the Lord’s question in verse 8? Why do you think he reacted differently to the Lord’s question? Have you ever had a dramatic change of heart like this?
- Who do you know in need of rescue? Are you willing to “go”?
Read 2 Corinthians 9:6-15
- Why do you think Paul starts by talking about sowing and reaping? What do most people think of today when they talk about sowing and reaping? Why do they think this way?
Read verses 8-9 in different translations and try to put it in your own words. What do these verses say is the source of our generosity?
- What do these verses say are the short and long term effects of generosity? Have you ever personally experienced these effects, and if so, how did this impact your attitude towards giving to others?
- Why do you think the Bible says that God “loves” a cheerful giver? What can a person do to be ‘at the ready’ to cheerfully give when the opportunity arises?

What would it require of you to have the faith, like Isaiah, to say, ‘I am not worthy, but I am ready?’ God is already working in you, setting the stage for the years to come. Ask him to prepare your heart, to give you the ‘I am up for anything’ attitude. Even in the loss and struggle of 2022, when God is on your side, he will maximize the hard days for your benefit. Let’s be confident and ready for what God has next. Standing on the balls of our feet - Ready, set . . . I’ll Go.
