Week 3

Message Notes

Look Back

In what ways were you intentional with reaching out to your ONE’s this week?

Connect

Which best describes your relationship with money saver, spender, giver?

Look Up

Read Luke 15: 11-16

  1. How would you put this first part in your own words?
  2. What does this section reflect about the Fathers heart? What does it teach us about us?
  3. What determines whether you are squandering your finances or wisley investing them? In what ways do we “ squander” what God has given?
  4. How comfortable are you discussing generosity?

Read Luke 15: 17-32

  1. Money was merely pointing to the real issue, What do you think it was?
  2. Which of the 3 people do you relate most to and why?
  3. What did each of the sons value? What did the Father value?
  4. What role does God play in our finances?

Overall (Discovery Bible Study)

  • What do these scriptures say about God?
  • What do they say about people?
  • How will I apply this to my life?

Look Ahead

Generosity is an amazing opportunity for true discipleship. As in the story above it merely reveals what is deeper inside and what we value. It’s also a place where God is incredibly patient. In what ways does your generosity enhance or diminish your trust in God? What is one step you can take to move towards trusting Him more through generosity?

Notes

Financial discussions are always such a great opportunity for growth. There is so much freedom when we come to know Who supplies our needs. The prodigal son is a great picture of how this all plays out. We see that all of our tendencies are to live for us all while seeing the graciousness of God.
