Look Back
Have you ever experienced a miracle in your life?
Look Up
Read Romans 1:20
- What do you think are some examples of God’s invisible qualities that have been seen clearly?
- What does Paul mean by “so that people are without excuse”?
- Robbie uses the example of the Fibonacci Sequence as an example of God’s fingerprints within nature. What are some examples of the Fibonacci Sequence in nature? See resources page below.
Read Romans 1:19-32
- Who is the “they” that Paul is referring to?
- What rhythm and progression of decline do you see when “they” turn from God?
- What does “He gave them over” mean? What does that look like in today’s culture?
- Paul gives some examples of what it looks like to turn away from God and His creation. Reflect on how you may have turned away from God in your own life. If you are comfortable, share where you have been and where you are now.
- Why does Paul interject the heaviness of the description of those who are far from God with verse 16?
Overall (Discovery Bible Study)
- What do these scriptures say about God?
- What do they say about people?
- How will I apply this to my life?
Look Ahead
If you’ve been searching for truth, seek and you will find. If you’ve drifted from faith, realign your heart with His purpose. If you’ve never surrendered to Christ, respond today. Where do you find yourself today?
Notes
God is a creator, and science works to understand His creation. The Bible is not a science book, but it is the book of truth. As we consider science with a theological perspective, we will have a greater reverence for Him. As we look at creation, science exposes God’s fingerprints. Creation speaks to who God is, but He gives you the free will to choose–chaos versus order, creation versus destruction. Creation testifies. Science reveals. But only faith in Jesus saves.
