How do I change or pause my serving role if my schedule changes?

Most of our service areas involve using a planning software called Planning Center Online. This system allows you to accept or deny volunteer invites for specific dates and times. You can also add blockout dates is you’re going out of town or need to take a break. No matter what, you can always talk to your serve team leader about changes to your availability or interests.

Can I bring a friend with me to a Group?

Absolutely. Groups are a great place to bring a friend who might be exploring faith or looking for community.

Who do I contact if I have questions about serving?

You can reach out to your campus pastor or office@salty.org with any questions about serving. We will point you in the right direction!

How do I become a Group leader?

At Salty, we call them Group Hosts. Hosts simply create a space where people can gather and have meaningful conversations. If you’re interested in hosting a Group, we’ll walk with you through the process.

What support or training do Group leaders receive?

Group Hosts receive simple training and guidance, discussion resources or study material, and ongoing support from the Groups team. You’re never expected to do it alone.

What should I expect on my first night at a Group?

Your first night will likely include meeting new people, casual conversation, a discussion based on a Bible passage or message, or prayer together. There’s no pressure to perform. Just come as you are. Most people leave their first Group thinking: “That was easier and more meaningful than I expected.”
