Communion

"Do this in remembrance of me..." Luke 22:19

What Is Communion?

Communion is the act of eating and drinking in remembrance of what Jesus did through his death on the cross. Bread and juice are symbolic of Jesus’ body and blood that he gave as a sacrifice for the forgiveness of sin and renewal of life.

Why Do We Take Communion?

We take communion as a reminder of Jesus’ sacrificial love, an acceptance of peace with God, and a renewal of life through union with Jesus.

How Do I Take Communion?

First, pause and examine yourself. Are you growing in your faith and trust in who God calls you to be? Are there things, sins, you need to turn away from? You don’t need to be perfect to take communion; the elements don’t make you holy. Receiving communion is powerful when we give thanks, examine, and point our lives towards living for God’s kingdom here and now.
